Hi everyone! I'm Bree Perry, #15. This past weekend was a long trip for us! We drove to Kansas and beat Newman in five sets; it was an exciting game for sure. Then we drove to Arkansas and played Fort Smith. Unfortunately, we lost, but we'll get them next time! Next up this week we have two home games against Trinity and TAMIU. Can't wait to add two more wins to our record!!!
Hi, I’m Monica Ramon and I am a junior defensive specialist studying Mathematics. We had two
conference matches and one non-conference matches in the past two weeks. We played Dallas
Baptist University on September 23 and we WON in five sets. It was a great match by both
teams, but we fought with all our heart. The bench was super crazy and loud, which helped kept
the moral of the team high. There were a lot of great rallies and hustle plays. Then the following
week we returned home for two more matches. The first one was against Lubbock Christian
University, which was another five-set thriller. We won the first two sets, lost the third and
fourth sets, but we pulled through and won the last set to 15. Everyone worked very hard and the
bench was super loud again. The next day Friday September 29 th we played the 16 th team in the
nation. We may have lost, but we did take a set off of them and played very well. The past
matches have helped us improve and prepared us for our next two matches. We leave on
Wednesday for a two-game road trip. We play Newman on Thursday and Fort Smith on
My name is Ilina Spasova. I am a freshman middle blocker from Sofia, Bulgaria. This week was an adventure for me and the team. We were really busy. We had 4 matches in 6 days and we played our first conference and home matches. We won 3/4 of the games. The first game was on Tuesday. We played against Our Ladies of the Lake and we won 3:1. Then we played on Wednesday against Hutson-Tillotson and we won 3:1 again. Playing in front of the home audience was amazing. On Thursday we travelled to Austin where we lost from St. Edward’s. On Friday we travelled for Dallas where we played against DBU on Saturday. Despite the exhaustion from the past days, we won 3:2 in a really emotional match. It was hard but we went out on the court as a team and fought till the end. We shocked the world. This week we continue with full power against Lubbock Christian on Tuesday and Tarleton State on Friday.
Wish us good luck. Go Rattlers!
Hey Rattler fans!
This is Jaycie Pluenneke #16! This past week has been a busy/exciting one for sure! We recently played four matches and went three for four. Last week was also our first home match, and it was a success. Conference started as well last week! This coming week, we play Lubbock Christian on Thursday and Tarleton University on Friday.
We would love everyone’s support this week and the upcoming ones, but if you’re not able to make it, they are livestreamed! J
Thanks again for all of the support,

Hi everyone, my name is Amanda Lake and I am a junior defensive specialist.
This week was an adventure to say the least. Unfortunately we weren't able to go to Miami due to hurricane Irma. Praying and hoping the people of Florida are safe and keeping them in our thoughts. On the bright side though we were able to go to St. Louis and play in the Lindenwood tournament which was awesome! We played hard the second day. Took a set off the number 9th ranked team in the country and got a win. Go rattlers!
Not only was it a weekend full of volleyball we were also able to have a fun day at the St. Louis zoo. My favorite animal was the gorillas. Fun fact I learned at the zoo , the women lemurs are head in charge and shew the males away when there is a tasty treat near. Here are some pictures throughout the trip.
This weekend was an amazing weekend, consisting of our first tournament at West Texas A&M. We bonded not only on the court but off the court as well with team bonding, team dinner, and film. For team bonding we came up with scenarios to either act out, hum, or draw. For instance, acting out being our GA, Kevin, or laughing like a teammate Amara. It was hilarious watching each other be goofy and free with one another. We also enjoyed some amazing meals such as Frizoli's, Olive Garden, and Subway. Although we had our fun off of the court, we also had much more fun on the court. Although we went 2-2 this weekend, we fought hard together on the court and on the bench. No matter what we always tried to uplift one another by cheering extremely loud and being silly. We fought hard this weekend against every team that we played and gave it our all every game. I know that next weekend we will do a lot better and grow mentally together. This weekend taught us to never give up on ourselves and fight together as a team.
Hi I'm Allison Rose and I'm a senior Middle Blocker and Opposite.
The St. Mary's University volleyball team had quite the interesting weekend. With the arrival of Hurricane Harvey, the Lady Rattlers were unable to compete in their first scrimmage of the season against cross-town, Division III rival, Trinity University. Hurricane Harvey is currently an active tropical cyclone that recently made landfall in Texas as a Category 4 hurricane on Friday night. The St.MU/Trinity scrimmage has been rescheduled to Wednesday, August 30th at 5:30 pm @ Trinity University.
In addition, the Lady Rattlers will be working hard this upcoming week to prepare for their preseason volleyball games! In the next two weeks, The Lady Rattlers will be competing in 12 matches against Mary-Hardin Baylor, Trinity University, University of Texas-Permian Basin, West Texas A&M, St. Thomas University, Florida National University, and several others to prepare for conference season, which begins September 21st against St. Edwards University.
Hi my name is Shelby Mudd. I am a freshman setter from Indianapolis, Indiana here at st Marys and I'm so excited for this season and can't wait to make memories with all my teammates. This week has been pretty hectic with school starting. Right now I'm trying to find a groove between starting my classes and my volleyball schedule. And being a Biology major school can give a pretty heavy load. But between meeting all my teachers and volleyball everything has been amazing. I love all my professors so far and can't wait to get to know them. This pass Thursday we had media day which was so fun, I didn't really know what to expect from it but all I know is my introduction video is very awkward. But thats being a freshman for you, lots of awkward moments (haha). Friday practice was so fun we got to scrimmage a lot because we are scrimmaging UTSA on Monday which is so very exciting. Also it was Boo Boo’s birthday which was awesome because we got cupcakes at the end of practice woo. Then after that coach gave us the weekend off which has been so nice because we went grocery shopping, which was really weird doing without my parents. Overall though Rattler volleyball had a great week and many more to come!
Hi everyone! My name is Channing Hankins, I am a junior outside hitter. This week was
our first week of preseason and two-a- days! The team has worked really hard and we have
shown a lot of progress already. This year, we have 19 girls on the team which is the biggest
team I’ve ever played on but we are all already getting along really well and getting to know
each other. We have had a couple of really fun days of team bonding which has been great to
hang out with everyone outside of volleyball as well. School starts tomorrow for all of us and
we have 10 freshmen on the team so it’s a super exciting and new time for them! Today, the
preseason poll for the Heartland Conference came out and we were ranked sixth. The team is
super excited to show the conference what we have and prove everyone wrong! We all are
really looking forward to getting into season and start playing games, we hope to see all of our
fans out there! Our first home match of the year is Tuesday, September 19 th vs. Our Lady of The
