Hey Rattler fans another week has gone by and as always it was packed with lots of excitement and hard work. As always we our team was working hard, with practices, and morning weights all week. Of course with all the work we put in we still make sure we have some fun. We got to celebrate one of our seniors 21st birthdays after practice, and of course got a little sweets cheat on our diets with some mini cupcakes.
Getting ready for our first scrimmages this weekend, all the girls are super pumped and ready to come out and show people what we are about this year. We have a lot of new faces this year and along with that comes a new team dynamic, and chemistry. We felt confident going in ready to finally see what we looked like to other teams. Going into TLU we had some slow starts but once we found a rhythm things went smoother and we took the game in four. Trinity on the other hand was a bit tougher with a bit too many mistakes we lost in three. Not being discouraged we gathered together and talked about what changes needed to be made in order to better ourselves, not letting a loss phase us.
Going into the Concordia scrimmage we knew what we needed to do, and were just as ready to put another win in our record books. After along point by point battle and not giving up we fought back from a deficit and took the game, then dominating the end of the game. Playing southwestern we started off just the same, and ended up splitting the two sets.
Now getting ready for our first home game, I feel everybody is even more anxious and exited to show our home fans the new St. Mary’s Rattlers. We play Shandong this Monday night at home, which should be a good match for us. After a long weekend of practice matches and seeing what exactly we need to do to win, all the girls are ready to put in some work and come out with this W.
